“You’re In My Heart” was written by Rod Stewart and released in 1977. He wrote it after breaking up with actress Britt Ekland. She dropped the $12 million palimony suit against him.

Some of Rod Stewart’s love of football (soccer) comes through in the lyric, “You’re Celtic, United, but baby I’ve decided you’re the best team I’ve ever seen.”
