"Hopelessly Devoted to You" was featured in the 1978 movie Grease, with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.

"Hopelessly Devoted to You" was written by John Farrar, Olivia Newton-John's record producer since 1970. Farrar also wrote "You're the One That I Want" from Grease and five of the songs from Xanadu, Olivia Newton-John's second movie musical.

"Hopelessly Devoted to You" reached number 3 on Billboard in 1978.
