“God Only Knows” was written by Brian Wilson and released by The Beach Boys in 1966 on the inspired “Pet Sounds” album.

The Beatles’ Lennon and McCartney heard this song and the album and were inspired to write “Here, There, and Everywhere” and produce the “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” album in 1967.

Paul McCartney thought “Pet Sounds” was the greatest album of all time and that “God Only Knows” was the greatest song ever written.
