What do you get when you fall in love? A guy with a pin to burst your bubble That's what you get for all your trouble I'll never fall in love again I'll never fall in love again.
What do you get when you kiss a guy? You get enough germs to catch pneumonia After you do, he'll never phone ya I'll never fall in love again Dontcha know that I'll never fall in love again?
Don't tell me what it's all about 'cause I've been there and I'm glad I'm out Out of those chains, those chains that bind you That is why I'm here to remind you.
What do you get when you fall in love? You only get lies and pain and sorrow So far at least until tomorrow I'll never fall in love again No, no, I'll never fall in love again.
Notes
"I'll Never Fall In Love Again," recorded by Dionne Warwick, was written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David for the Broadway musical, Promises, Promises, Neil Simon's musical adaptation of Billy Wilder's screenplay of The Apartment.
Though she did not appear in Promises, Promises, Dionne Warwick recorded the five songs for the musical and included three of them on her 1968 album, "Promises, Promises."
However, "I'll Never Fall In Love Again" was not recorded on an album until Warwick recorded it on the 1970 album, "I'll Never Fall In Love Again."
"I'll Never Fall In Love Again" reached #6 on the Pop chart in 1970.
By the way, Dionne Warwick was born Marie Dionne Warrick. On the credits for her first solo single in 1963, "Don't Make Me Over," her name was misspelled. Shortly thereafter she began using the misspelled name, "Warwick."
