“I’ll Be There” by The Jackson 5 was a #1 hit in 1970. “I’ll Be There” was written by Hal Davis, Bob West, Willie Hutch and Berry Gordy.

The lead vocals for “I’ll Be There” were Michael Jackson and Jermaine Jackson. Michael was 11 when the song was recorded. The other members of The Jackson 5 were Tito Jackson, Marlon Jackson and Jackie Jackson. They hailed from Gary, Indiana. They were discovered by Gladys Knight at the Apollo Theater in Harlem.

Mariah Carey’s version of “I’ll Be There” was also a #1 hit in 1992.
