Day after day, I must face a world of strangers When there's no gettin' over that rainbow So many times when the city seems to be When there's no gettin' over that rainbow Touch me and I end up singing If all my friends have forgotten half their promises When there's no gettin' over that rainbow When there's no gettin' over that rainbow Notes “I Won’t Last a Day Without You” was written by Paul Williams and Roger Nichols in 1972 and recorded by The Carpenters. It was released on a single with "Goodbye To Love" and reached #7 in the U.S. and #9 in UK. Williams and Nichols also wrote The Carpenters' signature song, "We've Only Just Begun." The Carpenters had twelve Top 10 hits in the '70's, including three #1 singles. Read more about The Carpenters CD. Click below to listen to an excerpt from "I Won't Last A Day Without You."
