• At lavalife you can create three different profiles because they offer three distinct communities of members. There is a Dating category for friendship and fun encounters, a Relationship category for finding someone who is open for serious possibilities, and there is an Intimate Encounters category where you might be able to start something wild. The first thing you should do is to take a Tour to get an overview of all of the possibilities on lavalife. Then create your profile and add up to 10 photos. Then browse to see who matches your criteria from among those currently online or among the membership. You’ll see that there are lots of great people here that you will want to communicate with. Now it is time to buy some credits.

• You do not have to buy a subscription at lavalife. They have a unique system which allows you to buy credits that never expire! It’s a pay as you go system. There is no time limit for spending your credits. Nothing expires. So, make some contacts with those that interest you. Send someone a Smile, a little flirt. Email the person or instant message them with a video of yourself. Invite someone into your backstage with a backstage pass. Your backstage is not open to everyone, just those who you want to invite in! You can also record a voice profile and contact special people by phone. Leave an intriguing voice mail. Get the idea? With lavalife there are endless possibilities. After all, it is "where singles click."

• Photos. Post up to 10 photos. The first one is public, the rest go into your backstage area. In the Intimate Encounters community your backstage photos can be clothing optional, with tasteful limitations of course!

• Lavalife by Phone. Currently half of the states have local Lavalife by Phone numbers where you can record a voice profile, leave a voice message, or talk live with someone currently on line. People love to hear your voice! You'll use lavalife by phone often.

• Lavalife Mobile. Launched in 2004, this feature allows members to exchange text messages anywhere, anytime using their mobile phones.

• Lavalife Clicks. This is a feature where members write interesting stories about a click or success story. It can include a picture. Write a great story about a meeting that clicked. It gives you and others a great feeling of confidence. As lavalife says, "Like, Lust, or Love." All are valid.

• The Lavalife. Like an online magazine. There is one for each of the three communities and each contains tips and advice that is appropriate for that particular community. They are fun to read and the advice is excellent!

• Backstage. A unique feature to lavalife. You control your backstage by granting passes only to special people.
