The Dating Advisor, Issue #13 -- May Flowers May 05, 2005 |
| Helping you to enjoy Online Dating.
Welcome to all! Following the April showers of last month we should have some May flowers begin to grow again. This is a great month to anticipate gardens and flowers and spring romance. Check the dating services reviews of SeniorFriendFinder and Yahoo! Personals below. They are two of my favorite services. They have so much to offer, including numerous interesting members in your own area.
Also in this issue you'll find one of my favorite romantic movies, "Jerry Maguire," and one of the all time best love songs, "Can't Help Falling In Love," by Elvis.

1) Favorite Dating Service Reviews
A wonderful feature of SeniorFriendFinder is that the free membership allows you to do many of the things that you must pay for on most dating sites. There are two sections to the site, the Friend Network and the Dating and Romance section. Your profile in the Dating section will be more extensive than your profile in the Friend section and you are welcome to use both sections freely. You’ll be able to search among members for those that interest you most. You won’t be able to initiate contact with others using the standard membership, but those who are interested in you can contact you. That’s a great feature and may allow you to have numerous contacts and dates without ever leaving the standard membership area.
Yahoo! Personals
One of the key features that makes Yahoo Personals so successful is the personal profile which you can create for free. It will take you a little more time to create than most because it encompasses about 5 pages and over 60 important areas.
2) Jerry Maguire Movie Review What a great story, being able to couple a movie about football with a love story! Seems like genius to me. Do you remember the part where Tom Cruise says, "You complete me?" To which Renee Zellweger says, "Shut up. You had me at hello." Great lines. Cuba Gooding Jr. is my favorite character in the movie because he is so passionate about everything. His Oscar acceptance speech was just as passionate and memorable.
Rent it and watch it with someone special.
"One of the best romantic comedies of the 1990s, this box-office hit cemented writer-director Cameron Crowe's reputation as "the voice of a generation." Crowe could probably do without that label, but he's definitely in sync with the times with this savvy story about a sports agent (Tom Cruise) whose fall from grace motivates his quest for professional recovery, and the slow-dawning realization that he needs the love and respect of the single mom (Renée Zellweger in her breakthrough role) who has supported him through the worst of times. This is one of Cruise's best, most underrated performances, and in an Oscar-winning role, Cuba Gooding Jr. plays the football star who remains Jerry Maguire's only loyal client on a hard road to redemption and personal growth. If that sounds touchy-feely, it is only because Crowe has combined sharp entertainment with a depth of character that is rarely found in mainstream comedy." 3) Find a unique, fun gift at Perfumania

Well, do not fret over it because there are alternative ideas. It is possible to date with little or no cash flow and it can allow you to be creative while having a frugally fun time. 1. Do some star gazing at a local college observatory. It is open to the public during the school year and it’s absolutely free. 2. Feel one with nature. Have a picnic and explore a state or national park (admission is typically under $10 or free). 3. See a music laser show at a planetarium for around $6.00. 4. Check out a poetry reading or other events at a bookstore. Sometimes snacks or beverages are provided. 5. Create a food themes night and cook each other a dinner and appetizer at home."
5) i carry your heart with me by e. e. cummings Love poems have the power to inspire us and to warm our hearts. We should take a few minutes each day to recall an inspirational line or stanza. i carry your heart with me
i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)
Did you know that contrary to popular belief E. E. Cummings never legalized his name as, "e. e. cummings.?" His name properly should be capitalized.
6) Love Song: Can't Help Falling In Love This was one of Elvis Presley's best songs ever. In fact, Elvis usually ended his concerts with this song. Read the lyrics below and you'll see what an excellent love song this really is. Then recall the smooth voice of Elvis and you won't be able to help falling in love with the song.
Can't Help Falling In Love
Wise men say only fools rush in
Like a river flows surely to the sea
Like a river flows surely to the sea
That's all for now. Make it a great week. Mark |
