The Dating Advisor, Issue #9 -- Do You Need a Date Doctor? March 09, 2005 |
| Helping you to enjoy Online Dating.
Welcome to all! The movie, Hitch, has recently been released to the movie theaters. Have you seen it yet? Will Smith, one of my favorite comic actors, is the well-meaning Date Doctor who is able to give great adice to others but who really needs someone else to give him some much needed advice. Everyone needs a dating advisor it seems! Smith is hilarious as are the situations in the movie. If you haven't seen it yet make it a date movie with someone interesting. The movie makes some excellent points about attraction. There's a scene where Will Smith approaches the character, Sara, who has just shown remarkably strong resistance to interacting with a good-looking guy. Smith successfully chases away the other guy and uniquely starts a verbal sparring match with Sara. Sara admits that she is not interested in the ways that guys approach her because they all do it "just ike every other guy." She appears to be attacted to Smith because his approach is not "just like every other guy." Great point. Women (and men as well) are attracted to a good tease, especially one that is funny and provocative. Then Smith executes the advanced move, after creating attraction, of leaving Sara abruptly. Just walking away. Wow. He leaves her with plenty to think about.
Speaking of movies, I've included a romantic song, "Cruisin," from the underrated movie, Duets. The song is haunting and cool, and I'll bet you've wondered what the lyrics were exactly. Here they are.

BlackSinglesConnection.com 2) Groundhog Day Movie Review Since we recently observed Groundhog Day and Puxatawny Phil saw his shadow, presaging six more weeks of winter, I thought that this romantic fantasy classic would be an appropriate recommendation.
Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell could not be more charming or more interesting in this clever story. See it again because I'll bet you've forgotten how funny it is. Enjoy!
"Bill Murray does warmth in his most consistently effective post-Stripes comedy, a romantic fantasy about a wacky weatherman forced to relive one strange day over and over again, until he gets it right. Snowed in during a road-trip expedition to watch the famous groundhog encounter his shadow, Murray falls into a time warp that is never explained but pays off so richly that it doesn't need to be. The elaborate loop-the-loop plot structure cooked up by screenwriter Danny Rubin is crystal-clear every step of the way, but it's Murray's world-class reactive timing that makes the jokes explode, and we end up looking forward to each new variation. He squeezes all the available juice out of every scene. Without forcing the issue, he makes us understand why this fly-away personality responds so intensely to the radiant sanity of the TV producer played by Andie MacDowell. The blissfully clueless Chris Elliott (Cabin Boy) is Murray's nudnik cameraman." 3) Find a unique, fun gift at >Timeless Message Timeless Message is an elegant Message-in-a-Bottle.
