The Dating Advisor, Issue #8 -- Post Valentine's Day February 23, 2005 |
| Helping you to enjoy Online Dating.
Welcome to all! Well, did you make a good impression with your new love interest on Valentine's Day? Or did you do a good job of reaffirming your affections with that special someone in your life? Either way, don't let down now. Keep the romance going! Included in this issue is a great poem from Edgar Allan Poe, "Annabel Lee." Do you remember the scene in the move, Holes, where the school teacher is reciting a poem and the brilliant handyman is listening from outside the schoolroom window? He completes the lines of the poem from memory. That poem was "Annabel Lee."
It's a wonderful poem, the last one that Poe wrote. He wrote it as an expression of his enduring love for his young wife and his grief that she died. Poe died two years after his wife, and "Annabel Lee" was published two days after Poe's death. Enjoy it! In This Issue

She was a child and I was a child,
And this was the reason that, long ago,
The angels, not half so happy in Heaven,
But our love was stronger by far than the love
For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams Read interesting notes about the backstory of Annabel Lee.
5) Ever After Movie Review
Drew Barrymore plays the endearing Cinderella superbly in this realistic enactment of the fairy tale classic. The film is charming and touching all the way through. Have fun!
"This is one of my favorite movies of all time! Of course, as its known by the title the story is based on the Cinderella fairy tale, but in this movie the heroine is smart and strong, yet vunerable at the same time. Drew Barrymore is great and Angelica Houston is just wondrously wicked as the evil step- mother. This movie is recomended to every woman!!!"
6) Love Song This haunting song was written and performed by Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac. For the Rumours album they recorded this in the huge Zellerbach Hall at U. C. Berkeley, which gave the song a deeper sound. When the group performed in concert they vacated the stage, leaving Christine McVie alone on stage with her piano, voice, and wonderful lyrics.
For you, there'll be no more crying,
To you, I'll give the world
And the songbirds are singing,
And I wish you all the love in the world,
And the songbirds keep singing,
That's all for now. Make it a great week. Mark |
